Meet Your Lead Clinician
Ian Sadler, MSK Podiatrist, Orthotic Consultant & Clinical Educator
Hi, I’m Ian Sadler and I’m the Clinical Director and Founder of Norfolk’s BxClinic. Since June 2008, I’ve built Norfolk Biomechanics Clinic (now BxClinic) from a 'one man band,’ to a permanent premises in Blofield. I couldn’t be more proud of what our small team has achieved. On the grounds of Norwich United Football Club, our purposefully designed consulting rooms and state of the art technology support us to deliver exceptional patient experience and care.
-
I consider myself fortunate to do a job that I’m passionate about, and allows me to help a wide range of people - including those suffering from debilitating arthritis, to elite athletes in training.
I also teach and share biomechanics knowledge and practical skills to an extensive network of specialists, including physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths and podiatrists. I’m constantly developing and increasing my own learning on biomechanics through the professional and academic circuit, where I lecture and discuss methods on biomechanics throughout the world.I first became interested in biomechanics during my service as a battlefield medic in the British Army with the elite and Special Forces. I successfully treated many lower limb injuries in various fields of operation, under various strenuous circumstances with limited resources.
After leaving the army, I pursued a medical degree specialising in podiatry and orthotics. After graduating with honours, I went on to work for the NHS before moving to the UK’s leading biomechanics technologies company as their principal clinician and orthotics consultant. In this role, I supported the development of digital gait analysis technologies, designed protocols for academic study and clinical use, and guided prescription of orthotic insoles. At BxClinic, we now integrate the best of these technologies in our clinical practice.
Since early 2020 I have been working to introduce 3D printing technologies to the prescription of orthotic insoles. I work with companies leading the field in the UK, France, Germany and Belgium to translate the exciting new technology into usable clinical systems. I am a member of the Phits Clinical Advisory Panel as well as running Orthotic Prescription training for a variety of health care professionals.
When I am not at the clinic or lecturing, I’m a keen recreational athlete and take part in running and adventure sport events whenever I can, such as the Norwich Triathlon and Rat Race 20mile obstacle course run in Peterborough. After nearly 14 years working with the Reserve Army as a Physical Training Instructor, I ‘hung up my boots’ in October 2021. This allows me more time to offer mentoring and training for practitioners to integrate and improve their Clinical Biomechanics abilities.

Caroline Cooper RN Dip Fhp
Hi, I’m Caroline, as a registered nurse for the past 39 years, I have always prided myself in delivering excellent care. During my time as a stroke nurse, neurology rehab nurse, and then a community matron, I felt that foot and nail care was lacking as carers/nurses are not qualified to deliver this, and the community podiatrist/chiropodist had very long waiting lists. So, with this in mind I dual trained and I am now a fully qualified foot health practitioner with a fully enhanced DBS and insurance.
-
I have carried my passion for learning and the delivery of up-to-date treatment into my current role which I am still able to include my nursing skills on a daily basis and now find I get the same job satisfaction I did when I was a hands-on nurse. My aim is to ensure everyone has a stressless experience and leaves the clinic with feet that feel like’ your walking on air’.
Holding my clinic at the BxClinic I can signpost you to the correct services if they require a specialist or can advise who you would benefit seeing within the NHS. I can also support the resident clinicians with footcare for their own patients to help with their ongoing treatments.
Caroline’s Footcare Services
I can support you with nail cutting, general foot care and advice on foot health, including nail infections, The removal of corns, callous and treat vurrucca’s. I also have a keen interest in diabetes and can support with diabetic screening and footcare. At the BxClinic there is ample parking and good disabled access with a comfortable waiting area with full facilities. The clinical room has ample room to meet every level of mobility along with a hight adjustable bed or chair with a foot rest.

Chantell Smith-Minns BA(Hons), Cert Hyp CS, AD Dip PC, MHFA, Level 6 Diploma (H.Dip Psy.c)
Hi, I’m Chantell, I beleive that behind every type of counselling there is a principle that you, as the client should be seen and heard.
Creative counselling embraces this, whilst also holding a space where thoughts, feelings and emotions can be expressed freely through different outputs. Sometimes it is hard to find the right words. Drawing, painting, and creativity can express the unspeakable. You don’t have to be an artist to be creative! The world and our interaction with it is a complex matter. Using objects and metaphors can provide a container to make sense of this.
-
Research has linked the act of ‘doing’ with calming the central nervous system and making sense of feelings. Crafts are amazing for keeping your hands busy, whilst processing thoughts. I appreciate taking the first step can be daunting and potentially scary, as an integrative therapist I will provide a safe space to explore your feelings, free of judgment and in complete confidence. Sessions are taken at your own pace and the time is there just for you.
I work on a holistic basis, allowing each person the time to explore their feelings in the moment. As my approach is integrative, I use Psychodynamic, Person-Centred and CBT approaches. Having worked within a large corporate environment as a coach, I have learned the importance of personal development and self-esteem building. I will support and encourage you in your own personal journeys and will help you identify your own strengths. Having graduated from Norwich School of Art and Design, I love art and the power of creativity. This can be incorporated as part of your therapeutic journey.
Call: 07513 292791 or email Chantell to book an appointment or a Free 30 minute consultation to ensure she is the best fit for you.
