Custom Made Footwear

The tradition of shoe-making excellence in Norwich goes back to the 10th century. BxClinic strives to continue this tradition with a bespoke footwear service combining old fashioned customer service, traditional manufacturing techniques, and cutting-edge technology.

Our Orthotist will expertly assess and measure your feet for your custom shoes or boots. We work with footwear manufacturers that set the benchmark for craftsmanship and quality. We offer made-to-measure handmade footwear, therapeutic footwear and paediatric footwear ranges.

Adult footwear: measured to fit

Our Orthotist will skilfully measure your feet to capture the exact dimensions required to build your custom footwear. This is essential if you have foot issues that cause you to struggle to find standard footwear. They will also take account of the structure of your ankles and knees, as well as the function of your hips and legs to ensure a holistic approach to your new made-to-measure footwear.

Custom shoes are your solution if you have narrow feet, wide feet, bunions, or one of the many other foot shapes that require specialist measurements and shoe fitting. Or if you are just tired of struggling to find the right quality of shoe for you, simply book your custom footwear appointment.

We work with a variety of shoemakers to find your perfect fit and style, as well as comfort and function. Once your feet and biomechanics have been measured, you can select from a range of suitable styles.

Every part of your foot measured for your shoe’s perfect fit.

Children’s Check and Measure Service.

Paediatric footwear: measured to fit

In 1792, James Smith opened the shoemaking shop on Market Square in Norwich that would become Start-Rite shoes. He started a tradition of children’s footwear excellence in our city, and we take pride in continuing that at BxClinic.

Up to 30% of children are wearing the wrong size shoes. Children’s feet grow rapidly in their first 3 - 4 years but continue growing for as long as 18 years. 54% of parents have their children’s feet professionally measured to make sure the shoes keep pace with their kid's’ growing feet. With our Check and Measure appointment, our Orthotist will expertly measure your child’s feet and assess for issues such as flat feet, wide feet, narrow feet, walking with pigeon toes, or out-toe walking — all of which may require more supportive footwear.

If your child is under 9 years old, please book a Check and Measure appointment to ensure they are in the correct shoes for their size and shape. Keep their feet protected and supported as they grow.
